De vitryska övergreppen fortsätter

Tyvärr har ytterliggare en oppositionspolitiker fängslats i Vitryssland:


Denis Denisov, UCP member, the leader of the Vitebsk Youth Christian
Social Union "Young Democrats" organization, was arrested on the 16th of
February in the train by the representatives of the transport militia.

He was accused by the article 342 part 1 of the Criminal Code of Belarus
"organization of the mass actions that violate the public order".

The criminal case towards Denisov was initiated in last summer after the
national white-red-white flag was hang up on the highest point of Vitebsk.
This act was a real challenge for Belarussian authorities.
It is unclear what lies in the backgroung of this criminal case and what
are the reasons for Denis Denisov arrest.

More that a month Denis is under the arrest in the Vitebsk Prison of the
preliminary keeping № 2. The meetings with him are forbiden. Several days
ago the advocate that was hired by the relatives of Denis studied the
materials of the case and found up that there is no corpus delicti in it.

The government investigator made a decision today to release Denis for a
deposit of 15 millions of roubles (app. 7500 USD). The relatives of
Denisov are trying to find this money but the sum is too big and it is
unclear whether they will manage to find this money.
